On 27 and 28 June 2026, the annual Day of Architecture (Tag der Architektur) takes place across Germany. This year's event presents more than 1,000 projects in over 15 federal states. In the state of Hesse, the programme is coordinated by the Architekten- und Stadtplanerkammer Hessen (AKH), giving firms and clients the opportunity to open completed projects to the public.
Dorsch Engineers is participating this year with the Elisabeth-Selbert-Schule in Wiesbaden. The secondary school, located in the Dotzheim district and completed in 2025, includes flexible learning clusters alongside conventional classrooms, a two-court sports hall with an accessible roof terrace, a canteen and assembly hall, and dedicated rooms for music, arts and natural sciences. With a focus on digitalisation and sustainability, the design sought from the outset to integrate digital learning environments and adaptable room configurations, complemented by generous outdoor spaces suited to a range of uses. The client is WiBau Gesellschaft mbH, Wiesbaden.
On Saturday, 27 June 2026, the building will be open to visitors from 1 pm to 4 pm. Architects from our Wiesbaden team will lead guided tours on the hour and are available to discuss design decisions, structural approaches and the planning process. The Elisabeth-Selbert-Schule is located at Willi-Werner-Strasse 3, 65199 Wiesbaden. Further information on the Hesse programme is available at www.akh-tda.de.
We look forward to welcoming you as visitor on site.
