European Transonic Wind Tunnel (ETW)
The German aerospace research centre DLR planned to erect a transonic wind tunnel, comprising operational and administration buildings and associated infra-structure, on a site with an area of 45 000 m³.
The wind tunnel has a cross section of 2.4 x 2.0m.
The solid lower parts were made of reinforced concrete, while the rising parts of the buildings were executed in structural steelwork.
