Frankfurt Int’l Airport “Rhein-Main“ (FRA): Apron A-West, first construction stage
New aprons (58,500 m²) in concrete (54,000 m²) and in asphalt (4,500 m²) will be constructed at the former area of Lufthansa (east of hangar 5/6) as part of the planned boarding gate A0.
The apron construction will be completed in 4 phases, consisting of:
- Demolition of existing pavements
- Dismantling of existing supply and disposal lines and diof dismantling of an existing de-icing system
- New construction of supply and disposal lines
- Construction of pavements
The construction works are close to the ongoing airport operations. A high level of security is therefore needed, especially in the interface area to the existing aprons.
