High Speed Railway Line Nuremberg – Erfurt; Rehabilitation of Section Nuremberg – Forchheim
The High Speed Railway Line Nuremberg – Erfurt – Berlin is part of the important Trans-European railway corridor Neapel – Stockholm.
The section Nuremberg – Ebensfeld was initially constructed in the first half of the 19th century and went operational in 1844. Now this section has been upgraded to enable a speed of 160/230 km/h.
Also included in this section is the integration of the regional MRT Line Nuremberg – Forchheim on separate tracks.
