Neurological Rehabilitation Centre
The purpose of the Neurological Rehabilitation Centre (NRZ) in Bennewitz is to improve or restore the capacity to work of people suffering from neurological disorders as well as to improve or restore their ability to help themselves.
The clinic building consists of a multi-storey glass central building (A) with 3 wings (B - D). The central building was to be installed in accordance with DIN VDE 0108 (applicable German electrical standards) as an accommodation facility and, in the case of the early rehabilitation section and emergency wards, in accordance with the DIN VDE 0107 hospital building directive.
The contract embraced the following trades:

Electrical engineering:
10/0, 4 kV interconnecting station with complete equipment; standard power supply main distribution system, sub-distribution systems, emergency power supply, lighting, installation systems, high-voltage fuse, telephone, fire alarm, nurse alert, antenna and door/intercom systems, data network.

Heating:
Central 2 x 950 kW gas boiler system, heating circuit distributor, control system, pumped hot water heating, static heating surfaces, floor heating system, hot water treatment, heat consumption metering, pipe network, thermal insulation.

Air-conditioning:
4 central and 24 decentralised ventilating systems, DDC (direct digital control) regulation for all laid-on services, fire protection shutters, sound insulation.

Sanitation:
Water supply system with cold, hot, fire extinguishing and soft water pipes; drainage system with sewage and rain water pipes, equipment pieces (including sanitary ceramics, fittings), swimming pool system including water treatment; water metering, control systems, thermal insulation
