Sewer rehabilitation Sternen-/ Langenackerstrasse Wesseling

 The combined sewer is to be divided into 2 subreaches and laid by pipe-jacking.

The centrally located departure shaft has been designed, from which the jacking will take place in both directions toward the respective target shaft.

A special feature of the works comprises the depth of the pipe below the existing combined sewers, which will be 4 to 10 metres.

Once the works are completed, the existing sewers will drain towards connecting chambers, to feed the new lower-lying sewer.

Apart from the very dense residential construction pattern, the scheme is complicated by the crossing of two main roads.

The intermediate and connecting chambers were constructed after the pipejacking in open cut.
