Sewer Rehabilitation – Trunk Line “C”

Dorsch Consult is responsible for management and supervision of sewer rehabilitation works in the city centre of Abu Dhabi. The up to 20 years old trunk sewers and manholes in Abu Dhabi are mainly constructed in GRP. Previous inspection surveys have shown that deflection has partly reached a non permissible extend as well as conditions like open and displaced joints.

The scope includes:

• Rehabilitation of 4.7 km trunk sewers ranging from DN 400 - 1600, incl. 62 manholes
• Construction of new structures on trunk sewer lines
• Cleaning of pumping station
• Cleaning and inspection of additional 27.5 km subsidiary lines from DN 350 - DN 1000, assessment of the inspection survey, evaluation of possible rehabilitation methods
• Construction of 9 emergency sewer by pass ducts

Execution:

• Rehabilitation of DN 400 - 600 by Close Fit technique(cured in place / U-liner)
• Rehabilitation of DN 700 - 1600 by Spiral Woundtechnique (RibLoc)
• Construction of emergency ducts by microtunnellingtechnique with concrete encased GRP
