District Hospital
DORSCH CONSULT was retained for the design and construction supervision of a new district hospital in the Burkersdorf area of Kirchberg. The project consisted of the main hospital building, a service yard and a power supply complex with electrical, heating, refrigeration and medical gas centre.
The 180-bed hospital, which is intended to provide basic medical care, comprises the following functions (in accordance with DIN 13080):
- Emergency admission
- Clinical medical service (internal medicine, surgery, gynaecology, anaesthetics)
- Functional diagnostics
- Endoscopy
- Laboratory medicine
- X-ray diagnostics
- Operating theatre (septic and aseptic)
- Physical therapy
- Emergency service
- General nursing (surgery 87 beds, internal medicine 77 beds, gynaecology 10 beds)
- Intensive care (6 beds)
- Social facilities
- Supply and disposal facilities (including sterilisation centre)
- Power supply complex
